Entry fee $50 and 2 pit people. Pit $10 after a $10 admission.
GENERAL RULES
1. All drivers are required to wear seatbelts, safety helmet, and eye protection. Neck brace is optional but recommended.
2. All cars must be standard make with no reinforcement or alterations to the frame unless specified.
3. You must remove all glass, mirrors, trailer hitches and chrome.
4. DRIVERS DOOR MUST BE PAINTED a different color.
5. Car or truck must have 12"x12" hole cut in hood in case of fire.
6. Brakes must be in working order. Minimum of 2 working brakes.
7. No bigger than 10 gallon gas tank (steel only-no plastic) covered and strapped in the back seat or box. MUST HAVE FUEL CUT OFF WITH ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP (steel strapping or chains-no bungee cords on gas tank or battery).
8. Batteries covered and strapped in passenger seat area. MUST BE COVERED FOR YOUR PROTECTION.
9. No profanity will be written on vehicle, subject to disqualification.
10. One fire-you start; second fire-disqualification.
11. You have 1 minute to hit, 2 minutes to get vehicle started.
12. NO SETTING BACK OR RELOCATING MOTOR.
13. No intentional crashing of the drivers door, subject to disqualification.
14. Vehicles must continue to crash. No avoiding, holding, or tag-teaming. No using drivers door as a block.
15. Mechanical work done on vehicle in pit area only.
16. No riding on vehicles at any time. Drivers must remain inside vehicle during derby and when being towed, except for fires.
17. Drivers door may be welded solid or reinforced in any way for safety.
18. Radiators must remain in stock position. Transmission coolers allowed.
19. Driver is responsible for any member of his or her pit crew. Any rules found violated will result in disqualification of driver, pit crew, and car and will forfeit any winnings, entry fee, and trophies.
20. NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN PIT AREA BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER THE DERBY. SUBJECT TO ARREST AND DISQUALIFICATION. THIS IS ENFORCED!!!!!
21. For the derby all automobiles are acceptable except 1973 and older Imperials, and 1969 and older Lincolns, convertibles. NO CARS WITH IMP SUB FRAMES.
RULES FOR COMPACT PICKUP, MINIVAN RULES
1. Radiator barrels are ok but must be mounted in the factory spot.
2. Bumper height 30” to the top of the bumper.
3. Max 9 leaf springs for compact trucks only.
4. Tires you may run any tire you see fit, foam it, double it what ever you have to do to not get a flat. NO AGGRESSIVE tire an the drive axle. Snow tires are O.K. Except for the Corcoran show.
5. 2 or 4 wheel drive, front drive shafts must be removed on 4 wheel drive pickups.
6. Tailgates must be welded shut or removed.
7. Battery box must be in cab.
8. Hood can be fastened with up to 6 bolts (1”) only two bolts to frame.
9. Front suspension can be solid. A-arms can be welded but with no reinforcements. Reinforced tie rods are accepted.
10. Front fenders and inner fenders can be bolted together, up to a maximum of 7 bolts, 3/8” max diameter. Rear fenders or box side can be bolted together with 5 bolts, with 3/8” max diameter. Tailgate can be welded to rear bumper.
11. Pickups can have a cage welded around driver.
12. Rear axle can be pre-loaded.
13. Core supports allowed. 1 piece of 2x2x1/4 angle across top of core not to exceed past out side of frame rails, with a single 2x2x1/4 piece of angle iron from top of support no further back than 12 inches from stock support location welded to top of frame only and parallel with frame rail , 1 per side. no gussets.
14. Doors and tailgate may be welded 5 on 5 off . Bracing in back of driver is allowed.
15. Exhaust modification may be through the hood with a vertical outlet: however judges reserve the right to disqualify any changes deemed to create hazards to participants or spectators.
16.Also, 21. Painting and undercoating frame is not allowed.
17. All hoods should have a least 2 six-inch diameter holes cut in the hood for fire fighting purposes.
18. Fenders may be cut out to allow wheels to clear sheet metal.
19. Padding of steering wheel or inside of driver door recommended.
20. Bumpers can be interchanged, but must be a factory bumper, no homemade or added steel. They can be welded to frame with no extra metal. Must have a front and rear bumper.
21. No concrete or foam filled frame or body parts.
22. No distributor protector’s
23. Truck’s may be drilled or scoped.
24. Coil springs may be bolted or chained so they don’t fall out.
25. All airbags must be disconnected.
26. Suspension may be welded solid.
27. Engine/tranny swaps allowed. No V-8's.
28. Electric fuel pumps allowed if wired w/disconnect.
29. Recommended dash bar and seat bar connected by bar on drivers and passenger’s side w/no kickers and may be welded. Not to exceed 6” past door seams or 10” past back of seat. Brace behind driver’s seat from post to post not to exceed 3” OD pipe. 1 strap max of ¼” by 2” attached from firewall to roof.
30. A total of 8 extra bolt’s is allowed to fasten cab & box w/up to 2” washers to the frame. Maximum of 3/4" diameter bolt.
31. A total of 3 bolts with up to 2" washers to fasten the box to the cab.
32. Use of # 9 wire 2 per window opening 4 loops or 8 Strands max per loop.
33. IF IT IS NOT IN THE RULES DONT DO IT.
PRERUN PLATING RULES
1. Plates are to be no bigger than 4” by 6” by 1/8 thick.
2. All plates MUST be attached to SIDE of frame, not top or bottom.
3. You must leave small portion unwelded to show thickness, plug welding is allowed.
4. You are allowed 4 total plates per frame rail of specified size only to fix damaged area, and you MUST leave proof of damage.
5. Plates are to be 2 max. per frame rail in front ½ of vehicle, and 2 max. in rear half of vehicle per frame rail.
6. No added plates are to be any closer than 3 inches from another added plate, and no plates directly across from each other (both sides of frame).
FULL SIZE TRUCK RULES
1. Any ½ ton, ¾ ton or 1 ton full sized 2-wheel drive pickup, suburban, blazers, broncos, jeeps etc. are allowed.
2. 4-wheel drive allowed if front drive shaft is removed.
3. Regular cab, extended cab or crew cab allowed.
4. Must have at least 4 bolts additional to the factory bolts up to 1” in size and a minimum of a 3” washer holding the box to the frame.
5. Cab must be bolted down solid with at least 4 additional bolts up to 1” size with a minimum of a 3” washer.
6. Box and cab may be welded to the frame, but may not add metal. Just welds. The cab and box may be welded together and you may use filler to weld them together.
7. Must have a cage inside of truck. You may have 4 down bars must be straight down and not angled to the frame! CANNOT go farther than the forward most part on the firewall. You may also have a roll loop in the box up against the cab with kickers no farther back then the front of front spring mounts. Must be min of 2 inches in front of spring mounts.
8. Tailgates must be welded or taken off.
9. Solid welding is allowed inside and out, hood must have a large hole cut in the center for inspection. Hood may be welded shut solid. If the hole in the hood isn’t large enough for inspection, you will have to cut a bigger hole.
10. Hood may be bolted down with 8 hood bolts and they may all go to the frame 1“ MAX.
11. You can have a 2 by 2 angle or square tube across the core support with 2- 2 by 2 kickers attached to the frame in front of a arms or in front of axle. Radiator barrels are o.k and can be welded to core support.
12.Any automotive bumpers and brackets may be used on the front and rear of truck. Bumpers may be reinforced on the inside only. Bumpers and brackets may be welded. Must have bumpers on front and back of truck. From the end of frame back 8” may be reinforced, nothing bigger than the frame is tall. No connecting frame rails together. You may have 2- 4” wide by 8” long ¼” strap on the front and rear bumpers to body. Bumper height is 30” max to the top of bumper.
13. Rear end may be tied to the frame in 2 spots. Use #9 wire, 3/8” cable or chain. Springs may be clamped in 6 spots per side. 12 factory truck springs max per side. Tie rod ends may be reinforced, but must be workable. A-arms may be reinforced and bolted or welded to frame. You may weld a tube from axle to the bottom of frame in the front only for hight and weld a kicker from it to the ball joint area of the axle.
14. If you need to fix your truck and have questions call first. If we don’t physically see the bend or rust hole you will cut it or you wont run. If you have to re-stub any part of your truck you are only allowed to butt-weld the frame together. This mean no over lapping them at all. You are allowed 1” by ¼” thick metal to go around where it was re-stubbed only. You can weld a plate on a bend 1” past the bend or rust hole
80S AND NEWER RULES
1. Cage- Dash bar and behind seat bar and door bars allowed 2 inch min diameter or square cannot be attached to frame. May have only 2 bars max behind seat in a crisscross pattern. Must be securely fastened or you will be told to remove. Dash bar may connect to the firewall in 2 spots 3” by 3/8” max flat stock and cannot be placed within the dp. If you have a dp dash bar must be 6 inch away from firewall. If you have a tranny brace it must be mounted to cross member with factory tranny mount or free floating and dash bar must be 2inches away from tranny tunnel. Halo bar no farther back then 15 inches from center post on 4 door cars or 8 inch on 2 door cars. Can be welded to frame and bolted to roof. Halo bar can be attached to the door bars. You can have 4 down bars from the door bars only located within the front doors and straight down to rocker area If you have a halo bar you can only have two down bars. You can run a gas tank protector that must mount from the behind the seat bar 30inch wide and be 2inch from any sheet metal no down bars.
2. Doors- **Please reinforce your driver’s door very good, in this type of competition all drivers doors will take some type of hit during the event. We want you to be safe and protected behind your reinforcement.** All doors may be welded solid with 3” wide by 1/8” thick strap or chained shut. Top of doors can be folded and welded together with no added metal.
3. Hood and Trunk- Hood may be bolted in 8 spots. 4 to frame and 4 to sheet metal. The rod must be welded to top of frame and cannot run down the frame in any way where it touches is it. The back hood bolts can have a 4” by ¼” thick triangle to help attach the rod to the frame on top. Trunk lid may be welded solid with 3” by 1/8” thick strap or bolted every 3inch. Trunk may be bolted in 6 spots 4 to frame and 2 to sheet metal. Trunk may have a 10” by 4” ¼” strap from bumper to the trunk. You may tuck trunks. NO sedagons, decking must be removed.
4. Seam welding- Frame can be welded fire wall forward top and bottom. Body seams can be welded 6 on 6 off. K-frame CAN be welded solid, May take out pucks and replace with 1” bolts. No plating the y on a y frame car you may close them with the existing frame, or use the bumper brackets. 80S and newer can have a 5 inch angle iron to help hold tranny cross member cannot go to crushbox.
5. Body bolts- You may remove pucks front and back, you may add 3 extra body bolts per side which can also go to frame with a max of 6”x 6” washer’s. ALL bolts can be a max of 1 inch.
6. Core support- Core support may have a 2 by 2 ¼” angle iron on the top of core support from fender to fender. Radiator barrels are o.k. BUT must be factory size, CANNOT touch the frame in any way, CANNOT be welded to the angle iron at all, Bolted in 4 spots to core support or 4-2” welds to core support to hold it in place. Must run vent tub under the car!
7. Fenders- May bolt fenders to wheel wells up to 8 3/8" bolts front and back. May fold fenders and weld. If you weld them you cant use the bolts. If you bolt them you cant weld them. You may weld the front clip solid on OLD IRON "ONLY". The fenders CANNOT be welded to the frame.
8.Windows- Windshield may have 2 bars 3” wide 3/8” thick max no more than 6” on the firewall and 6” on roof. May connect with 2 bars 3” by 3/8” max. Cannot be connected to any hood or trunk bolt.
Rear window may have 1 strap 3” by 3/8” max. No more than 6” on roof and 6” on trunk or speaker deck. You may have 9 wire in 2 spots in each window.
9. BUMPERS-Bumpers may be bolted or welded solid. You may fully weld bumpers and brackets. Nothing can be put inside of frame to mount the bumper unless it came from the factory with it. Bumpers are interchangeable with any mass produced car bumper. Stock appearing bumpers: we will allow you to take any bumper apart, weld any material you would like to the inside of bumper and weld the chrome back on. Everything must be done inside of bumper nothing on the outside.
10. Drive Train- Motor and tranny of choice, in stock location. Maybe welded or chained, the motor tie down CANNOT exceed 2” in front or behind the heads to top or side of frame 2 by 3/8 flat stock and cannot be laid flat on frame. Dp can be touching firewall. With dp you can only tie down motor within engine cross member. If you run a dp you cannot have a front motor plate if you have a front motor plate no dp.
11. Suspension- Rear suspension must remain stock, double coils are o.k. on coil cars. Leaf spring cars have up to 9 leafs per side and maybe clamped in 6 spots per side. Must be factory springs out of a car and CANNOT be home made. Rear end maybe chained in 2 spots per side of car. Coil springs may be wired in. Upper and lower trailing arms maybe reinforced, but they still have to function in a factory manor. The 99 and newer can change the rear suspension to the older style system. The 03 and newer may NOT change the front craddlle must remain stock. A-arms must be mounted to aluminum craddle and must have factory steering. the Front suspension may be welded with 2- 2” straps DO NOT strengthen frame or bolted or spring spacers for height. Tie rods maybe reinforced, but must function in a factory manor. Tires you may run any tire you see fit,foam it, double it what ever you have to do to not get a flat. Aggressive tires are O.K. Except for the Corcoran and princeton show.
12. Frame repairs- If frame is rusted you may fix it with same thickness plate 1 inch past the rust hole (DO NOT CUT THE RUST SPOT OUT). You may weld a plate 1” past a bend. 20 inch max per side no longer than 8 inches long and must have a one inch gap between plates and welds cannot touch one side only on 80s and newer with a 1/4 plate only.You may weld a plate 1” past a bend. 30 inch max per side on old iron no longer than 10 inches long and must have a one inch gap between plates and welds cannot touch one side only on old iron with a 1/4 inch plate only.

7. Must have a cage inside of truck. You may have 4 down bars must be straight down and not angled to the frame! CANNOT go farther than the forward most part on the firewall. You may also have a roll loop in the box up against the cab with kickers no farther back then the front of front spring mounts. Must be min of 2 inches in front of spring mounts.
8. Tailgates must be welded or taken off.
9. Solid welding is allowed inside and out, hood must have a large hole cut in the center for inspection. Hood may be welded shut solid. If the hole in the hood isn’t large enough for inspection, you will have to cut a bigger hole.
10. Hood may be bolted down with 8 hood bolts and they may all go to the frame 1“ MAX.
11. You can have a 2 by 2 angle or square tube across the core support with 2- 2 by 2 kickers attached to the frame in front of a arms or in front of axle. Radiator barrels are o.k and can be welded to core support.
12.Any automotive bumpers and brackets may be used on the front and rear of truck. Bumpers may be reinforced on the inside only. Bumpers and brackets may be welded. Must have bumpers on front and back of truck. From the end of frame back 8” may be reinforced, nothing bigger than the frame is tall. No connecting frame rails together. You may have 2- 4” wide by 8” long ¼” strap on the front and rear bumpers to body. Bumper height is 30” max to the top of bumper.
13. Rear end may be tied to the frame in 2 spots. Use #9 wire, 3/8” cable or chain. Springs may be clamped in 6 spots per side. 12 factory truck springs max per side. Tie rod ends may be reinforced, but must be workable. A-arms may be reinforced and bolted or welded to frame. You may weld a tube from axle to the bottom of frame in the front only for hight and weld a kicker from it to the ball joint area of the axle.
14. If you need to fix your truck and have questions call first. If we don’t physically see the bend or rust hole you will cut it or you wont run. If you have to re-stub any part of your truck you are only allowed to butt-weld the frame together. This mean no over lapping them at all. You are allowed 1” by ¼” thick metal to go around where it was re-stubbed only. You can weld a plate on a bend 1” past the bend or rust hole
80S AND NEWER RULES
1. Cage- Dash bar and behind seat bar and door bars allowed 2 inch min diameter or square cannot be attached to frame. May have only 2 bars max behind seat in a crisscross pattern. Must be securely fastened or you will be told to remove. Dash bar may connect to the firewall in 2 spots 3” by 3/8” max flat stock and cannot be placed within the dp. If you have a dp dash bar must be 6 inch away from firewall. If you have a tranny brace it must be mounted to cross member with factory tranny mount or free floating and dash bar must be 2inches away from tranny tunnel. Halo bar no farther back then 15 inches from center post on 4 door cars or 8 inch on 2 door cars. Can be welded to frame and bolted to roof. Halo bar can be attached to the door bars. You can have 4 down bars from the door bars only located within the front doors and straight down to rocker area If you have a halo bar you can only have two down bars. You can run a gas tank protector that must mount from the behind the seat bar 30inch wide and be 2inch from any sheet metal no down bars.
2. Doors- **Please reinforce your driver’s door very good, in this type of competition all drivers doors will take some type of hit during the event. We want you to be safe and protected behind your reinforcement.** All doors may be welded solid with 3” wide by 1/8” thick strap or chained shut. Top of doors can be folded and welded together with no added metal.
3. Hood and Trunk- Hood may be bolted in 8 spots. 4 to frame and 4 to sheet metal. The rod must be welded to top of frame and cannot run down the frame in any way where it touches is it. The back hood bolts can have a 4” by ¼” thick triangle to help attach the rod to the frame on top. Trunk lid may be welded solid with 3” by 1/8” thick strap or bolted every 3inch. Trunk may be bolted in 6 spots 4 to frame and 2 to sheet metal. Trunk may have a 10” by 4” ¼” strap from bumper to the trunk. You may tuck trunks. NO sedagons, decking must be removed.
4. Seam welding- Frame can be welded fire wall forward top and bottom. Body seams can be welded 6 on 6 off. K-frame CAN be welded solid, May take out pucks and replace with 1” bolts. No plating the y on a y frame car you may close them with the existing frame, or use the bumper brackets. 80S and newer can have a 5 inch angle iron to help hold tranny cross member cannot go to crushbox.
5. Body bolts- You may remove pucks front and back, you may add 3 extra body bolts per side which can also go to frame with a max of 6”x 6” washer’s. ALL bolts can be a max of 1 inch.
6. Core support- Core support may have a 2 by 2 ¼” angle iron on the top of core support from fender to fender. Radiator barrels are o.k. BUT must be factory size, CANNOT touch the frame in any way, CANNOT be welded to the angle iron at all, Bolted in 4 spots to core support or 4-2” welds to core support to hold it in place. Must run vent tub under the car!
7. Fenders- May bolt fenders to wheel wells up to 8 3/8" bolts front and back. May fold fenders and weld. If you weld them you cant use the bolts. If you bolt them you cant weld them. You may weld the front clip solid on OLD IRON "ONLY". The fenders CANNOT be welded to the frame.
8.Windows- Windshield may have 2 bars 3” wide 3/8” thick max no more than 6” on the firewall and 6” on roof. May connect with 2 bars 3” by 3/8” max. Cannot be connected to any hood or trunk bolt.
Rear window may have 1 strap 3” by 3/8” max. No more than 6” on roof and 6” on trunk or speaker deck. You may have 9 wire in 2 spots in each window.
9. BUMPERS-Bumpers may be bolted or welded solid. You may fully weld bumpers and brackets. Nothing can be put inside of frame to mount the bumper unless it came from the factory with it. Bumpers are interchangeable with any mass produced car bumper. Stock appearing bumpers: we will allow you to take any bumper apart, weld any material you would like to the inside of bumper and weld the chrome back on. Everything must be done inside of bumper nothing on the outside.
10. Drive Train- Motor and tranny of choice, in stock location. Maybe welded or chained, the motor tie down CANNOT exceed 2” in front or behind the heads to top or side of frame 2 by 3/8 flat stock and cannot be laid flat on frame. Dp can be touching firewall. With dp you can only tie down motor within engine cross member. If you run a dp you cannot have a front motor plate if you have a front motor plate no dp.
11. Suspension- Rear suspension must remain stock, double coils are o.k. on coil cars. Leaf spring cars have up to 9 leafs per side and maybe clamped in 6 spots per side. Must be factory springs out of a car and CANNOT be home made. Rear end maybe chained in 2 spots per side of car. Coil springs may be wired in. Upper and lower trailing arms maybe reinforced, but they still have to function in a factory manor. The 99 and newer can change the rear suspension to the older style system. The 03 and newer may NOT change the front craddlle must remain stock. A-arms must be mounted to aluminum craddle and must have factory steering. the Front suspension may be welded with 2- 2” straps DO NOT strengthen frame or bolted or spring spacers for height. Tie rods maybe reinforced, but must function in a factory manor. Tires you may run any tire you see fit,foam it, double it what ever you have to do to not get a flat. Aggressive tires are O.K. Except for the Corcoran and princeton show.
12. Frame repairs- If frame is rusted you may fix it with same thickness plate 1 inch past the rust hole (DO NOT CUT THE RUST SPOT OUT). You may weld a plate 1” past a bend. 20 inch max per side no longer than 8 inches long and must have a one inch gap between plates and welds cannot touch one side only on 80s and newer with a 1/4 plate only.You may weld a plate 1” past a bend. 30 inch max per side on old iron no longer than 10 inches long and must have a one inch gap between plates and welds cannot touch one side only on old iron with a 1/4 inch plate only.
COMPACT
